My Mission, My Reason Why:
To bring more love to the world by healing the only relationship there is.
I’m laying my heart out for you today. I’m sharing with you not only what drives the mission of One Moment Center, but also my personal “why.” This is so deeply personal to me and I’m loving that I get to share it with you.
First a lil’ background: I was introduced to Mindfulness through the world of academia. When I started facilitating Mindfulness modules in group therapy, I started to feel something tell me, “Girl, you need to do this!!!” So I started fumbling around with Mindfulness practices.
My whole life changed….and it’s because I was changing.
Beyond feeling more resilient to stress and being able to calm my anxious mind, something profound was happening.
Every time I got still and went inward, I started to feel guided by something bigger than me. I connected with something providing me intuition and inspiration. It’s wise, loving, and powerful. To this day, I don’t call it anything specific – Energy, Universe, God, Spirit, Life Force.
This force guided me to resources, teachers and lessons that opened my eyes and my mind more and more.
I was HEALING wounds that I didn’t even know I had, and it became apparent to me that these wounds were behind all of my stress, poor relationship decisions, frantic need to stay busy, and more.
Then after reading parts of “A Course In Miracles,” one of the main messages hit me so hard it was like I got the wind taken out of me.
We’re all here to heal.
When we heal one relationship, we heal them all.
THERE’S ONLY ONE RELATIONSHIP – THE ONE WITH YOU.
The relationship with your Self will reflect in every relationship in your life. If your relationship with YOU is wounded and lacks love, this will show up over and over again in all your relationships, including with food, your body and health, money, and opportunities.
And you guys, I can 100% attest to this!
I now know it’s my purpose to bring more love to the world – and I can only do this by healing my relationship with ME. I only have control over my relationship with me, and the more I heal me and love me, it can’t help but bring more love to the world. It’s the same for you, too!
All that I put into One Moment Center (from weekly-ish e-mails, virtual workshops and courses, to retreats) are inspired by this mission:
To bring more love to the world and helping others heal the only relationship there is – the one with yourself.
From every cell of my heart: Thank you for being here. Thank you for letting me share this with you. May you find healing and bring more love to the world.
I’m sending you all the love I can!!!
P.S. There is a workshop this Sunday, Vision Boards for Relationships, that will help you find the wounds holding you back from creating your best relationships!
P.P.S. If you really want to go deep with this, join us at Breezy Point Resort for a weekend getaway for Self-Compassion in April! (Early registration ends Jan 25th!)

What if I told you suffering was totally get-rid-of-able?
And what if I told you that was a choice?
And what if I told you that choice can be made right now? AND that your life would get tons better?
Today (like an hour ago, so please excuse any typos) I was asked a question by an awesome lady doing the 10 Day Maitri Challenge (it’s totally FREE and in the Awakening Maitri – A Community For Self-Compassion private Facebook community).
She simply asked, “What is Radical Acceptance?”
The first answer that came to mind was, “Oh ya know, it’s how we end our suffering. No biggie.”
And then I realized it would be way better to answer that question in an e-mail than using my phone keyboard. AND, then you’d all get to see my answer as well, which is awesome because this info is HUGE in transforming your life.
So….ready to end your suffering? Here we go!
(This e-mail might seem long, but you guys, there is at least one part of this e-mail that will change something in your life.) (more…)

I didn’t know I was doing it at the time, but it was the most important thing I’ve ever done.
I woke up.
And then I chose to stay awake.
I of course am not meaning that stayed awake all night (though I’ve done that a few times when it was crunch time in the academic world). What I am referring to is the choice to intentionally be aware.
When I found Mindfulness…..wait, that’s not even right. Mindfulness seemed to find me. I wasn’t searching for something to help me feel better. I actually didn’t know how crappy I felt until I started practicing Mindfulness.
This might not sound like a great advertisement for Mindfulness! Though when you have awareness, you have choice. Once I realized how miserable I was (unmanaged stress, anxiety, worry thoughts up the wazoo, constant judgment of myself and fear that others must just know how I’m not good enough, etc.) I had a choice to feel better. Before that, I was just in autopilot, unaware of how crappy I felt and that that was the source of habits I wasn’t liking.
I knew that even just noticing my thoughts, tendencies and misery somehow in and of itself felt better.
It’s like I was waking up, seeing myself for the first time, rising out of slumber that I didn’t even know I was in.
I’d done a lot in my life thus far to numb out from myself.
I recognized that wasn’t working for me anymore.
Something inside me knew….this is how to feel better; intentionally be aware of what’s going on inside. I remember one time hearing myself think, “Okay, now stay awake.”
When translated, “Buddha,” means something close to enlightened one, awakened one, or knower. We all have buddha inside of us. We all can choose to awaken.
So, I made the choice to continue on this path of Mindfulness. Of choosing to be aware of my thoughts, emotions, tendencies, desires, reactions. I had no idea what all this would bring me: feeling at peace no matter what, calming a temper (that I really didn’t like I had), connecting with what I call my Authentic Self, inspiration, identifying my passions and feeling on purpose.
This is still a journey I’m on. There is no finish line here. It’s just keeping at it, choosing to stay awake.
It’s tempting to go back to sleep. It’s tempting to get caught up in external validation, seek “success” as defined by our culture, get hooked into my competitive tendencies, react poorly when I don’t get my way. My humanness didn’t go away. I just woke up to it so I’m aware and make choices that are in line with my values, passions and purpose instead.
Choosing to be awake has transformed me.
Choosing to stay awake continues to transform me.
Every day is a chance to evolve more and more into my highest, best, most loving self.
This is why I started One Moment Center. This is why I created Mindfulness: Basics to Awakening (4 part course where I walk ya through it all – more info on that at the bottom of this email). I wanted to let others know of not just what it means to awaken and how to use Mindfulness to get there, but because the decision to allow transformation is the best decision I ever made.
Whether you can attend Mindfulness: Basics To Awakening or not, I hope that you choose to awaken.
It might be the best decision you ever make.
May you always return to love,

Naked in Nature
I, as well as ba-zillions of others, find that being in nature allows for the most incredible calming, inspiring, and healing opportunities. There’s tons of cool research and articles out there about why exactly being away from the concrete jungle and instead among the trees and fresh air is so dang rejuvenating. You don’t need me to reiterate that. What I will share is that for me it’s like how I imagine toddlers feel running around outside naked: care free, alive, joy, bliss, content with the moment.
